Objective
Almost every engineering problem comprises of interactions between matter: water, air, oil, solid particles etc. For this reason, the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analyst should carefully specify the problem, taking these factors into consideration. In order to understand the complex nature of multi-physics flow behaviour, it is necessary to know basics of the physical phenomenon and modeling techniques. This training program aims at imparting the much needed skills to the participants for handling complex real life problems using CFD. Extensive modeling techniques such proper mesh generation, how to apply relevant boundary conditions, who to decide on 2D or 3D models etc. will be covered in the program. This unique workshop is a must for engineers, scientist and faculty to acquire much needed skills that are needed in 21st Century for 'simulation driven research and innovation'.

What are the items should participants bring with them?
A pen-drive (2 GB)
An umbrella (to safeguard from solar radiation and rain)
Light summer cloths
What would be mode of teaching in this course: theory and/or hands-on or both?
Both
Background theory would be covered followed by real time hands-on from design to analysis
Will there be any research presentation from different researchers?
No
Unlike other courses or training program where many researchers present their research using PPT and clapping in the end. Participants do not learn how to develop a good CFD model by just listening to presentation. This course is unique in many sense. In this course, major focus is on the modeling techniques where participants generate their own design, develop CFD model and perform the post-processing analysis. We believe that it is the skill that matters in the end. Such courses are rarely offered in academic environment.
Do I need to bring laptop with me?
Not necessary.
We will provide desktop computers to each participants. However, it is left to the participant if he/she wants to bring the laptop.
What are the items the participants will get from the organizers of this workshop?
Registration kit.
Certificates
Lunch.
An intensive one week training.
Videos of the modeling techniques showing step by step procedure. This will he very useful in case participants forget the steps while trying later.
Bonding with the students and faculty of IIT (BHU). This will help the participants to do some projects later or guidance if interested.
Why the registration fee is so high?
High? A 3-day CFD workshop in USA would cost around $1800 (Rs 1 lakh 23 thousands) excluding food and stay. The same workshop, when conducted in India for 3-day costs Rs. 50,000 (fifty four thousand) excluding food and stay. A 12 hour online webinar course costs $800 (Rs. 50,000, fifty thousands). This course at IIT (BHU) is for a week with lunch included. Still fee seems high?
This short term course is not just another course, where only lectures are delivered, data variation is discussed and then everybody claps. This is a skill development program in CAE domain which includes theory, hands-on and industry oriented training on CFD. Each participants are given personal attention. We guarantee that at the end of this course, you will say, "Wow, I can do it now'. Such short term course is nowhere offered in India or in any other country. Read here what participants of previous short term course said about this unique course.
Is there is any provision for registration fee waiver?
This course is fully self financed. Entire cost of this course is borne from the registration fee collected from the participants. There is no provision for registration fee waiver for individual participants. However, reduction in registration fee may be considered by the organizing committee if there is bulk registration from a single group of participants. Please send an email to [email protected] for the request.
Which software would be used in the course?
Ansys Fluent (for solver and post processing)
Altair HyperMesh (for design and mesh generation)
Will there be any break during the course for sightseeing?
No
