Reverse engineering (RE) is taking apart an object to see how it works in order to duplicate or enhance the object. Most industry rely in RE to design new products. This popular course is also taught in IIT Mandi to engineering students.
Students (5th class) of Takshila International school, Mandi, H. P. started learning RE by opening various products and toys.
Even without the knowledge of energy conversion principle, gear mechanism, inertia etc. they could understand by seeing the internal part of the toys.
They learned how to disassemble and then assemble the product themselves.
They learnt and explained the working principle of the product.
The most exciting part was when students saw their product running again after re-assembling it !
Learning the technique of disassembling a product.
Yes, I can also explain the working principle !
Learning in a group is fun !
Learning the technique of disassembling a product.
Explaining the inertia and energy principle without any prior knowledge of it.
Explaining the circuit and working principle
Opening an 'Airplane' !
The curious eyes !
All eyes on the 'fish' !
Learning the art of Reverse Engineering
Explaining how a remote controlled airplane works !
The 'inside story' of the airplane
The smile and curiosity ! Teacher help students how to open !
Learning the centrifugal principle and its design !
Teachers enjoying the Reverse Engineering class
Excitement after assembling and seeing it running again !
