A novel 2D CFD fan model
16 patents filed (15 as lead inventor), 25+ research publications, developed many new technologies, guided 9 summer interns.
Developed a new theoretical model for accurate prediction of the engine transient temperature.
Developed a simple, fast and accurate experimental setup for engine oil consumption measurement.
Developed a 2D CFD model to study engine heat transfer and its cooling system. The model includes engine block, fins, liner, head, cover, valves, gaskets and fan cooling system. Real time transient heat transfer phenomena can be investigated.
Developed an experimental set for measuring centrifugal cooling fan characteristics.
Developed a three-dimensional (3D) CFD model for centrifugal fan simulation for the above setup.
Developed a 2D CFD MRF model for centrifugal cooling fan, which takes less than 10 seconds to converge [10^(-7)]. Effect of inlet and outlet angles, blade diameter ratio, blade thickness etc can be studied in quick time.
Developed an experimental setup for measuring engine bore distortion under clamped condition.
Developed an FEA model for computing engine bore distortion and validated with the above experimental measurement.

Simulation Activities
At each state engine is analyzed and boundary conditions are generated for the next stage of simulation. Except combustion modeling I'm directly involved at all stages of modeling. I strongly believe in "Innovation by Simulation", which can significantly reduce time consuming physical tests.
